Creating database

In the last one and half years RoMF has carried out a comprehensive building survey in C & part of D wards. Today we are in a situation where one can come and find out the details of their buildings in detail which they may not find from MHADA.

Creation of database is divided into two streams namely physical surveys and building mapping.
  1. Physical surveys: building by building detail survey by over 200 surveyors to find the following details:
    • Cessed buildings
    • Non cessed properties
    • Buildings constructed post 1969
    • Schools, hospitals, police stations, heritage properties, religious structures
    • manholes, light poles, garbage dumping points, public toilets,
    • Building details – usage, height, no. of tenements, unit areas etc,.
  2. Building mapping: A separate section of draughtsman is created to map all possible features in a single map with various layers

Methodology for surveying:
Stage I: With the help of Tikka sheets availed from the collectorate, we have divided the site into clusters containing 15-20 buildings and surrounded by major/minor roads.
Stage II: Tikka sheets are digitized using AutoCAD with layers like buildings, roads, cluster boundaries
Stage III: Carved out clusters are numbered to and a primary physical survey is carried out to
familiarize the locality and to mark out/update the buildings on the plan
Stage IV: In the next round detail survey is carried out
Stage V: After identifying all the features on ground the map is updated
